Agents should discuss signage with their clients to determine the most effective placement of signs on a property. Consideration should be given to landscaping, terrain and visibility. Most communities require specific minimum setback clearances from sidewalks, streets and roads. By the same token agents should be familiar with local requirements and restrictions regarding such things as sign size, mounting fixtures, and hardware, sign heights, color schemes, etc. In multiple family dwelling complexes, yard signs are sometimes restricted in favor of window signs. Failure to comply with these types of regulations can result in signs being confiscated by the HOA.
